"Whatever it is you desire for your life, develop it first within yourself" - Ralph Martson
This quote so beautifully summarizes my journey. I'm excited about discovering what it is I want out of life, and making it so by developing who I am as a person. I know that it all starts with me. Let's be reminded that life is what we make it. Think about what it is you truly want out of life and begin to nurture that desire within you.

Happy Monday!

23 (B-Day)

23.. Wow! Where does the time go? Though part of me is kind of freaked out about how fast time is passing by, the other part is excited to greet 23. I've declared this year to be the year of my transition. Now what it is I am transitioning into exactly, is still a mystery; I am still working on trying to figure that out lol. But I do know that I don't want to be delayed by not acting. Sitting around waiting on my epiphany is not going to cut it anymore. I want to practice the mantra of "DOING" rather than just talking about it. The key to getting any of my ideas to come to fruition is to act. Yes, it is definitely easier said than done, but at some point we all have to learn to let go of the excuses right?

Journal #1: Deep

Sometimes in life the greatest and most profound truths make themselves known at the most unexpected times. We are often humbled by the mirror reflection of ourselves that we seemingly failed to see prior to our personal coming of enlightenment. These new realities offer a new sense of perspective, a new sense of awareness, a new sense of freedom. I suppose that this is one of the many interpretations that can be taken away from the saying "the truth can set you free".

"How It Feels to Fly" (2:26 a.m.)

It’s 2:26 in the a.m. on Thursday night (or Friday morning), and I am up listening to music. Not really thinking about anything in particular, just kind of chilling out.

As I’ve been listening to Pandora for the last hour or so, I am reminded of how much I appreciate the storytelling art form of a good song. I’m reminded of how lyrics really do take me on a journey, and how they cause me to take a moment to think..reflect.. just feel.  By Pandora’s selection, that song for me right now is “How it Feels to Fly” by Alicia Keys.

In Response To: The Trayvon Martin Case

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter” -Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Disbelief and sadness were my exact sentiments when I first learned of the tragedy of the Trayvon Martin case. It was a tweet from the Huffington Post that called my attention to the story. When I clicked the link to the article, and began to read the details I couldn’t help but feel angry, shocked, sad, and confused all at the same time. By the end of the article, I literally could not believe what I’d just read.
